Travel / Accommodation

We hope to make it as easy as possible for delegates from all over the UK to attend the event. We have secured a number of accommodation deals and provide transport advice too.

Getting There

Copper Box

The Copper Box Arena is on the west side of the Olympic Park in East London (E20 3HB). The arena is only a 5 minute walk from Hackney Wick Station (Overground) and a 10 minute walk from Stratford Station (National Rail, Central, Jubilee and DLR). (It is better signposted and a more pleasant walk, through the Olympic Park, from Stratford.) We will have volunteers on the route to guide you to the venue on the day.

By public transport

To get to the venue from main London stations we recommend the following routes (but please check on the Transport for London website in case of delays on the day, we cannot guarantee you these timings!):

  • Euston: either Victoria line to Highbury & Islington then London Overground to Hackney Wick then walk, or Victoria Line to Oxford Circus then Central Line to Stratford – 30-35 minutes
  • London Bridge: Jubilee line to Stratford then walk – 30 minutes
  • Marylebone: either Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus then Central line to Stratford then walk, or Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus then Victoria line to Highbury & Islington then London Overground to Hackney Wick then walk – 40 minutes
  • Paddington: either Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus then Central line to Stratford then walk, or Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus then Victoria line to Highbury & Islington then London Overground to Hackney Wick then walk – 45 minutes
  • Kings Cross/St. Pancras International: either Victoria line to Highbury & Islington then London Overground to Hackney Wick then walk – 25 minutes – or (more expensive) fast train to Stratford International then walk – 15 minutes
  • Victoria: either Victoria line to Oxford Circus then Central line to Stratford then walk, or Victoria line to Oxford Circus then Victoria line to Highbury & Islington then London Overground to Hackney Wick then walk – 35-40 minutes
  • Waterloo: Jubilee line to Stratford then walk – 30-35 minutes

There is a bus (388) from Stratford station to the Copper Box if you have mobility issues or prefer not to walk.

  1. I can offer a room in the house I share with my husband Neil, Max the dog and two cats. We are all quite easy going and (more importantly) live in Hackney which is only a stone throw away from the Copper Box. If you are interested then please email me: susanne@ncvys.org.uk. Room is available on 5th and 6th November.
